Sustainable Development in the European Union

This publication by EUROSTAT, entitle ‘Sustainable Development in the European Union” is aimed at monitoring progress towards the SDGs in an EU context. The indicators used have strong links with key policies.

The report concludes, among other things, that EU progress over the past five years appears to have been strongest for SDG 3 ‘Good health and well-being’, followed by SDG 4 ‘Quality education’ and SDG 7 ‘Affordable and clean energy’; It also concludes that, the EU appears to have moved away from SDG 10 ‘Reduced inequalities’. This is due to the continued rise of income inequalities within Member States.
