A Holistic Approach to Evaluating Research

This report launched by IDRC describes, in brief the rationale behind the development of the Research Quality Plus (RQ+) approach to evaluating research quality and the assessment instrument.  The report was developed by Zenda Ofir and Thomas Schwadt with a view to:

(i)                  moving away from science-centric thinking towards a systems perspective on research for development; and

(ii)                providing an evaluative approach that respects the contexts and needs of research in and aimed at the Global South.
